HIS LUNA, HIS PRISONER.

Conan's POV

Her lips parted just enough for me to realize she wasn't pushing me away. My chest tightened like someone had tied a knot around it. Every ounce of control I'd been holding onto slipped, and I leaned closer, letting the space between us disappear.

I rested my hands gently on her waist, careful not to push too hard. Her body stiffened at first, but then... she didn't move away. She let me be there. My heart was pounding so loudly I was sure she could hear it, but I didn't care.

I lowered my head slowly, and deepened my lips against hers. And she responded. Not much, just the slightest pressure back, but it was enough to show me that she wanted this.

Her hand moved to my chest, fingers brushing my skin, and that tiny touch made everything inside me ignite.

I tilted my head a little, deepening the kiss, soft and deliberate. No rush. No urgency. Just us. I felt the tension in her body ease a fraction as her arms tentatively wrapped around me. Her wolf growled in warning, and I knew her mind was screaming, but her heart... her heart was letting me in.

I pulled back just a little, enough to see her face, and my breath hitched. Her eyes were wide, glimmering, holding a mix of fear and wonder. The thought of her being scared for me, or of me, made something ache in my chest. I cupped her face gently, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear, feeling the warmth of her skin under my hand.

"Rhyna..." I whispered, my voice hoarse.

Her lips curved into a faint, trembling smile, and I felt like I could hold onto that moment forever. I leaned back in, kissing her again, slower this time, savoring every heartbeat, every tiny sigh she let escape.

My forehead rested against hers, our breaths mingling. The world outside, prophecies, packs, conflicts, didn't exist here. It was just us, suspended in a quiet, fragile peace.

I kissed her neck gently, planting soft kisses here and there as if I were promising her something without words.

She leaned in closer, letting me stay, and in that surrender, I felt something shift. A quiet intimacy that didn't need words, a connection that spoke louder than anything else.

For the first time, I let myself believe that maybe... we could find a way, together, no matter the chaos waiting for us outside.

Her lips had just left mine when a shout tore through the air. My heart jumped, and my wolf growled, tense. Instantly, I froze.

My first thought: the enemy had broken through. My pack... my people...

But then I listened closer. This wasn't a scream of pain or bloodshed. It wasn't fear. Not at all. It was... something else. Joy. Wild, unrestrained joy that made my chest tighten with confusion.

Rhyna's hand squeezed mine, pulling me back from my thoughts. Her voice was soft, trembling. "What's going on? What's happening?"

"I... I don't know," I admitted, frowning. "Let's go find out."

I couldn't let go of her hands. The warmth of her fingers, the steady rhythm of her pulse, kept me grounded. I held her close as we moved toward the source of the noise. Every step drew the shouts clearer. Laughter and howls, cries of celebration that made no sense to me. My wolf whined in curiosity, confusion, and something else I couldn't name.

When we stepped into the clearing, the sight hit me like a thunderclap. Wolves were everywhere, leaping and spinning, their voices echoing, jubilant. They danced in circles, shouted, clawed at the earth, and the energy... It was intoxicating. But the source of their joy wasn't clear.

"She's back!" one wolf shouted.

"Thanks to the Moon Goddess!" another cheered.

"She's back!" came another voice, and another, until the words rang like a chorus across the pack.

My chest slammed with every beat of my heart. My wolf howled, overwhelmed. My mind went numb, and I pushed through the throng without thinking. I still held Rhyna's hands.

I froze for a moment, standing there as the pack danced around her. My heart pounded in my chest, my body trembling with a mix of relief, disbelief, and something I hadn't expected. She was here. She was alive. She was smiling at everyone.

I pushed forward, through the crowd, my heart hammering, chest slamming. And there she stood, right there, smiling at me. At the center of the crowd, moving like sunlight through the chaos, standing tall with a smile that lit up the clearing... Fairi.

I had started wars, shed blood, risked everything... all for her.

And there she was, smiling, alive, untouched by the horrors I had endured. My breath caught. My hands itched to reach her, to hold her, but the world seemed too loud, too bright, and unreal.
