Chapter 2
The next morning started with a kind of tension that made the air in the house feel heavy, and Diana woke up feeling like her skin was too tight for her body. She had spent half the night tossing and turning in her bed, her mind replaying the way Keith had looked at her and the way his thumb had felt against her lip. She dressed carefully, choosing a pair of thin pajama pants and a tank top that showed off the curve of her shoulders, knowing that the fabric was thin enough to be suggestive if the light hit her just right. She walked into the kitchen and found Keith already there, leaning against the counter with a cup of black coffee in his hand, looking like he hadn't slept a wink either.
Leo was still dead to the world in the living room, which meant the house belonged to them for a few more hours, and the silence between Diana and Keith was loud enough to make her heart race. She didn't look at him directly at first, instead focusing on the coffee maker, but she could feel his gaze tracking her every move as she moved across the room. She reached for a mug on the high shelf, purposely stretching her body so that her tank top lifted just an inch, exposing a sliver of her pale stomach. She heard him take a slow sip of his coffee, the sound of the ceramic hitting the counter echoing in the quiet room.
"You're up early," Keith said, his voice sounding rough and deep, like he had been thinking about her the entire night.
Diana turned around and gave him a shy, small smile, the kind that made her look like she didn't have a single dirty thought in her head. "I couldn't sleep," she whispered, stepping closer to him until she was almost within arm's reach. "The house felt... different last night."
Keith set his coffee down and straightened up, closing the gap between them until she had to tilt her head back to look at him. He didn't touch her, but the heat coming off his body was like a furnace, and Diana felt a familiar ache starting to build between her legs. He looked down at her with those dark, calculating eyes, and she knew he was searching for the girl he had glimpsed the night before, the one who wanted to be ruined by him.
"Different, huh?" Keith murmured, his eyes dropping to her chest where her breathing was becoming fast and shallow. "I imagine it felt pretty different for you when I told you that I knew you were playing a game."
Diana bit her lip, her eyes fluttering shut for a second as she leaned slightly toward him. "Maybe I am playing a game," she admitted, her voice gaining a bit more confidence. "But you're the one who decided to join in, Keith."
He let out a low, dark chuckle and finally reached out, his hand sliding around the back of her neck, his fingers tangling in the loose hairs at the nape of her neck. He didn't pull her in, but he held her there, his grip firm and possessive, making her feel small and fragile in a way that made her want to scream. He leaned down, his lips hovering just an inch from her ear, and she could feel the warmth of his breath sending shivers down her spine.
"I don't just join games, Diana," he whispered, his voice a low growl that made her toes curl. "I win them. And right now, I'm wondering exactly what the prize is for winning this one."
Diana felt a surge of heat crash through her, and she dared to reach out, her hand resting flat against his chest. She could feel the steady, powerful thrum of his heart beneath the fabric of his shirt, and it only made her more desperate. She slid her hand down, her fingers grazing the waistband of his jeans, just barely touching the denim. She felt him stiffen under her touch, his grip on her neck tightening just a fraction, and the look in his eyes turned from curiosity to raw, unfiltered hunger.
"I think the prize depends on how well you play," Diana whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and desire. "Do you think you're good enough to handle it?"
Keith's eyes darkened, and for a moment, she thought he was actually going to kiss her right there in the kitchen. He shifted his weight, pressing his lower body against hers, and Diana gasped as she felt the hard ridge of his erection pushing against her hip. It was a bold, aggressive move, and it told her exactly how much he wanted her, despite the games they were playing. She leaned into him, her body molding against his, her mind screaming for him to just take her right there on the granite countertop.
"I'm better than good, Diana," he said, his voice dropping to a dangerous level. "I'm the kind of man who takes exactly what he wants, when he wants it. The only question is whether you're ready to stop pretending to be a mouse."
Diana let out a shaky breath, her eyes searching his. "I'm not pretending," she lied, though the way she was rubbing her hand against his hip told a completely different story. "I'm just... shy."
Keith laughed, but it wasn't a kind sound; it was the sound of a predator who had finally cornered its prey. He released her neck and instead slid his hand down her back, his palm flat against her spine, pushing her firmly against the counter. The cold stone felt sharp against her lower back, but the heat of Keith's body was all she could focus on. He leaned in closer, his nose brushing against hers, his scent filling her senses and making her head spin.
"You're a terrible liar," he whispered, his lips almost touching hers. "I can feel how much you're shaking, and I can tell you're soaking wet just by the way you're looking at me. You want me to stop being polite, don't you?"
Diana couldn't even find the words to answer, so she simply nodded, her eyes wide and pleading. She wanted him to break her, to strip away the shy exterior and find the filth she had been hiding for years. She wanted to feel his weight on top of her, to feel him claiming every inch of her body until she forgot who she was. But just as she thought he was finally going to give in, Keith pulled back, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Not yet," he said, echoing his words from the night before. "I told you I want to see how long you can keep this up. If I give you what you want now, the game ends too quickly. And I'm starting to really enjoy the way you beg with your eyes."
He stepped away from her, the sudden loss of his warmth leaving her feeling cold and empty. He picked up his coffee and took another slow sip, looking at her as if she were a puzzle he was slowly solving. Diana stood there, leaning against the counter, her chest heaving and her body trembling. She felt a mixture of frustration and intense arousal, the kind of tension that felt like a physical weight in her stomach.
"Go get dressed for breakfast," Keith commanded, his voice returning to that dominant, effortless tone. "Leo will be waking up soon, and we wouldn't want him to walk in and see his little sister looking so... distressed."
Diana glared at him, her shy facade momentarily slipping to reveal the hunger beneath. "You're a jerk," she whispered, though there was no heat in the insult, only a desperate longing.
Keith just winked at her, a gesture that was both playful and predatory. "Maybe. But I'm the jerk you've been dreaming about since you were fifteen, aren't I?"
Diana didn't answer, instead turning around and walking out of the kitchen as quickly as she could. As she walked back to her room, she could feel his eyes on her, tracking the sway of her hips and the way her thin pants clung to her skin. She shut her bedroom door and leaned against it, sliding down to the floor with a long, shaky moan. She reached down, her fingers slipping under the waistband of her pants to find herself drenched and aching.
She closed her eyes and imagined Keith's hands replacing her own, imagined him pinning her wrists above her head and telling her exactly how dirty she was. The thought made her arch her back, her breath coming in short, jagged gasps. She knew that he was playing with her, that he was intentionally driving her crazy just to see how far she would go, and the worst part was that she loved it. She loved the power he had over her, the way he could make her feel completely undone with just a few words and a look.
She spent the next hour in a state of semi-consciousness, her mind filled with vivid images of what would happen once the games were finally over. She pictured him taking her in every room of the house, marking her skin with his teeth and filling her with his heat. She wanted to be his, in the most absolute and carnal way possible, and she knew that Keith was the only man who could ever satisfy the darkness inside her.
When she finally emerged from her room, dressed in a modest sundress that hid everything, she found Leo and Keith sitting at the dining table. Leo was talking loudly about some work project, completely oblivious to the war being waged between his sister and his best friend. Diana sat down across from Keith, her expression neutral and her voice soft, returning to the role of the shy little sister.
"Morning, Leo," she said, her voice a gentle whisper.
"Morning, kiddo," Leo replied, reaching over to pat her hand. "You look like you slept well. You're not still tired from that late night, are you?"
Diana glanced at Keith, who was watching her with a knowing smirk. "I'm fine," she said, her eyes locking onto Keith's for a split second. "I just had some very interesting dreams."
Keith's smirk widened, and he leaned back in his chair, his gaze heavy and possessive. He didn't say a word, but the look in his eyes told her that he knew exactly what she was thinking, and that he was counting down the seconds until he could finally make those dreams a reality. Diana felt a thrill of anticipation shoot through her, knowing that while the sex hadn't happened yet, the fuse had been lit, and when the explosion finally came, it was going to be absolutely devastating.
