Chapter 1 of He Was My Protector in Cat Form, Now He's My Prince
I am a very expensive blue-eyed Ragdoll cat.
In a single night, I lost everything.
My father said, "Little kitten, you need to learn how to take care of yourself."
So, I found myself another "dad."
...
A week ago, I was a noble blue-eyed Ragdoll with my own small castle, surrounded by four or five maids who catered to my every whim.
In the feline world, I was quite the celebrity.
But then, in one night, everything changed.
My owner was investigated, and those who stormed into my home claimed he had committed a crime, and that the house would be sealed. Naturally, I was furious—why were they chaining my owner up?!
I leaped onto him, frantically pawing at the chains, trying to free him.
But it was no use. The chains remained firmly locked around his wrist.
They said they were taking him away. I panicked, meowing so loudly that my throat became hoarse.
What would happen to me if my owner left?
Take me too!
I didn’t want to be separated from him!
They grabbed me and pulled me off my owner. I tried to claw at his hand, hoping that if he was hurt, he would let go, and I could return to his side.
But I had miscalculated. As a pampered kitten, how could I possibly stand up to a human? My claws left only shallow scratches, no blood.
I watched helplessly as they shoved my owner into the car, his eyes filled with worry and reluctance. I knew he was concerned for me, and I was equally worried for him.
Then, they left me behind.
The house was sealed off, locked tight. I couldn’t get in.
I was cold and hungry, and I missed my owner.
I tried begging other cats for food, but they demanded I perform a handstand.
How outrageous! A noble Ragdoll would never submit to such humiliation!
In the end, I resorted to using my charm and managed to get a bowl of cat food from a pretty lady.
Days passed like this, and soon, the cats I had once bullied came looking for me.
Yes, I had been bullied in the cat world.
I had been so arrogant before, tormenting others. But when I was bullied, I would meow for my owner, and he would always intervene on my behalf. The cats who had tormented me or reported me were punished by their owners. Naturally, they hated me.
Now, they demanded that I catch the rats I despised. If I didn’t, they’d pluck out my precious fur.
To protect my perfect coat, I had no choice but to obey.
As I chased that disgusting rat, I thought of my owner. He would never let me touch something I hated like that.
This past week had been a struggle, one I never could have imagined.
I thought about my owner constantly—not only him, but also my fur, my small castle, and my cans of cat food.
Then I met him. An incredibly handsome cat. He was a silver tabby Maine Coon.
When I saw him, he was looking at me.
But the situation was entirely different.
He basked in the warmth of the sun, the breeze gently ruffling his fur, exuding an aura of dominance as he surveyed everything around him.
I, on the other hand, was filthy, surrounded by other cats who mocked and entertained themselves at my expense.
The moment I laid eyes on him, my heart fluttered. I felt as though I had found the love of my life.
It was a feeling of pure happiness.
Later, he rescued me.
He was fierce, chasing away all the cats who had been bullying me.
I adored him.
I wanted to follow him, but he said, "Little human kitten, stay away from me."
I refused. I had to follow him.
But I wasn’t fast enough, and before long, I lost track of him.
Was I about to fall in love only to be heartbroken before I even had the chance?
Just as I was feeling sad and defeated, a delicious cat treat appeared in front of me.
Looking up, I saw the handsome Maine Coon again.
