He Accused Me of Seducing Men with My Scent

I didn’t understand why he was angry. I just sighed, realizing that the more I talked, the more mistakes I made.

I took a breath and gave a practiced, polite smile as I looked up. “Then I’ll leave first. Goodbye.”

Without glancing back, I gently pushed the door open and walked out.

Perhaps Ethan never imagined that after this goodbye, we would become strangers for good.

I took a taxi to the airport. My senior had listened to me and rescheduled my flight to today.

He asked curiously why I was in such a rush. I simply smiled and said, “I want to start a new life.”

Along the way, my phone kept ringing. It turned out to be Ethan.

When I answered, Samantha’s excited voice came through the line: “Ethan, you’re the best~ This necklace is so pretty~”

She was thrilled—she even changed what she called him.

Ethan replied gently, “Thanks for picking it out. She really likes it.”

Ironically, the most civil conversation between us now was: “Glad she does.”

There was a short pause. Just as I was about to hang up, I heard Ethan’s slightly irritated voice: “Don’t you have anything else to say?”

I looked at the setting sun and calmly replied, “Yes. Let’s break up.”

I scrolled through my phone, replying one by one to birthday greetings from friends and relatives, then turned off the phone and waited for my flight.

Ethan never remembered that today was my birthday.

Sadly, he never got the chance to celebrate it with me.

……

In a foreign land and unfamiliar city, my senior warmly welcomed me with a bright smile: “Welcome to the team!”

I held his hand with gratitude.

Once I had settled in, I turned on my phone and was flooded with new messages.

Most of them, surprisingly, were from Ethan.

There were countless missed calls and texts—more than he’d sent in our five-year relationship.

“Grace, where are you? What do you mean, break up?”

“Your phone’s off. Can we talk face-to-face?”

“Is this because I celebrated Samantha’s birthday? I never thought you’d be so petty.”

……

“Grace! What’s with this resignation letter? You’re quitting?”

“Where are you going?! I won’t accept this! Explain yourself!”

“Grace, I’m giving you two hours to call me back! Or else, you’ll face the consequences!”

……

“Where are you? I can’t find you anywhere.”

That last message came just three minutes ago.

I moved my fingers, deleted him from my contacts, and wiped out everything related to him.

A nosy coworker sent me a message: “When Mr. Lawson came in today, the whole office went quiet… He looked like he was searching for you.”

“Grace, where are you?! Mr. Lawson’s face was dark and his eyes were red… What happened between you two?”

The Ethan in the video looked unkempt. He clearly hadn’t slept in days. He snapped at everyone, like he’d tear the company apart to find me.

“You resigned?! Then you missed a bombshell!

Samantha wore her new necklace to the market. Mr. Lawson saw it, tore it off her neck, and threw it far away. She’s still crying…”

I replied to a few close colleagues, blocked everything related to Ethan, and fully immersed myself in this new life.

A week later, one of my coworkers flooded me with messages: “OMG! Your video with Ethan just went viral!”
