Freya The Alpha Queen

/ 10
Freya was a fierce, untamed woman who swore no alpha could ever break her spirit—until she met Aric. Unlike any man she had ever known, he was powerful, relentless, and dangerously magnetic. From the moment their paths collided, resisting him became impossible. His presence ignited a hunger in her she never wanted to admit, a craving that only grew stronger with every clash of wills and every stolen touch. Aric was determined to claim her—not with gentleness, but with a raw, primal passion that left no part of her untouched. Freya fought him, yet her body betrayed her, surrendering to the fire only he could set ablaze. With every encounter, every breathless night, he pushed her past her limits, leaving her marked in ways she could never escape. In this tale of dominance and desire, two powerful souls collide in a storm of passion, danger, and unyielding obsession—where love is as fierce as the battle to claim it.

Chapter 1 of Freya The Alpha Queen

FREYA's POV

I never set out to be queen. I was happy on the battlefield. I’d earned my favor there. I was strong and fierce enough that people trembled in fear when they heard my name.

I was about to earn a whole lot more than just the glory that came with conquest though. I was about to take the throne for myself.

All around me, my comrades raised their mugs into the air as they waited for the king to speak.

I stared up at him, looking forward to the celebrations that came with a triumph of this magnitude.

I should have run while I had the chance. “On this great day, we celebrate this incredible victory and I must thank one of our greatest warriors, Freya the Unstoppable.

It was through her ingenuity that we defeated the people of Kaldar, who have long been the stewards of the Port of Skali, but no longer.

Now we reign in their stead and they will speak of your honor and glory on the battlefield for years to come,” the king exclaimed with an unmistakable sense of pride.

It had been my idea to feign a retreat, only to attack from our riverboats with a volley of fire arrows in the dead of night. Our enemy had been busy celebrating their false victory when we had attacked again and taken the entire town.

And now, we were celebrating safely back within our city walls with the spoils of war that we had taken for ourselves.

“Hear! Hear!” the crowd roared.

Men and women alike slammed their pewter mugs, splashing the wooden tables with copious amounts of ale and wine. The scent of alcohol permeated across the massive room and it only fueled the fires of celebration even more fervently than ever.

I still had blood on my gray leather tunic. I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to be able to get it out. I honestly didn’t know if I even wanted to. I took pride in it.

The crowd started to chant my name and I looked out across the room. I’d fought side by side with all of them since I was old enough to carry a sword and shield.

Many of them still had the war paint from battle smudged on their faces. Much of their combat armor was flecked with blood and streaks of mud, remnants from a long and hard-fought war that finally appeared to have come to a close.

Our city, the people of Valgertha, had achieved victory together and now we controlled a very important and centralized trading port that would provide food, drink, and whatever other supplies we could ever need from the rest of the world. We’d earned this celebration. Together.

I took a rather large swig from my mug of mead and slammed it back down on the table too before the cacophony of cheers, battle cries, and applause drowned out the king’s words.

Once it settled down to a dull roar, he began to speak again.

“Many of you have expected me to choose a wife and I have put that decision aside for many years in favor of conquest and war, but now that we have achieved this critical victory, I feel as though it is long overdue that I claim a woman to stand by my side,” King Vageir continued, and gooseflesh popped all over my arms. I turned toward the king and he set his dark brown eyes on me.

He said nothing, but his gaze said everything. I swallowed heavily, nervously awaiting what would come next. He wouldn’t dare, would he? The longer he stared at me, the more I realized that he would because it was his nature.

It was his instinct to claim a woman, even if it meant he had to just take her. He was an alpha, a behavioral instinct that had been written long ago deep into the fabric of our DNA, a series of mutations that twisted and intercalated into the very foundations of our genetic makeup.

His kind was made to subdue an omega, a woman who was instinctually fated to react to his powerful dominance and spread her legs with the need to breed. I’d heard rumors of cities far away that sought to subdue our feral instincts with medications and suppressants, but it wasn’t like that here. We let nature take its course.

In Valgertha, an alpha could claim an omega, and no one would ever interfere. It was a sacred part of our lives. We embraced it all, just like we craved battle and the spoils of conquest, and the mud of the battlefield.

A very long time ago, the entirety of our planet was caught up in the Great War. Nations fought against the nations to control trade routes, money, and power. Many cities had been wrought with devastation and completely ruined. Several had been left to rot and had long ago been overtaken by nature.

Hundreds of thousands of people had fought and died in that war until it all finally came to an end with the use of weapons that swept through the planet like a black cloak of death. It wasn’t until much later that the aftereffects of those weapons began to present themselves on those who had managed to survive.

Humans were the most sensitive. A small number of men become stronger and more assertive in taking their mates. Some rare women succumbed to their rule and gave themselves over to be bred, but as more time passed these instincts grew to become stronger.

Now our people were powerless against those mating urges. There was no fighting them once they took hold. I stared at King Vageir. He gazed back at me, possessive and expectant.

A sickening feeling billowed up from the very pit of my soul. “I have chosen the woman that will stand by my side,” the king continued.

I squeezed my eyes shut for a moment before opening them once more. I wanted this to be a dream. I didn’t want him to continue because I knew what he was going to say before he even said it.

I prayed for him to keep silent, even though I knew he wouldn’t. There was one major problem with what he was about to tell our people. That wasn’t a part of me because I wasn’t made that way.

I wouldn’t bow to him and just let him use me. It wasn’t in my nature. I was different than anyone else. I was an alpha, a female one, and the only one known to exist among our people.

After He Chose His Mistress I Became His Rival's Star
As my client was getting a little too friendly, Nasir Bradley was enjoying a glass of wine with his assistant nearby. Trying to keep the client happy, I ended up drinking more than I should have and felt on the verge of passing out. Yet Nasir didn’t so much as glance at me; he was too busy picking the olives out of his assistant’s dish, encouraging her to eat. After dinner, the assistant remarked that it had been dull, which was all Nasir needed to hear before pulling over and practically pushing me out of the car to take her to the next event. “This young lady has been working hard lately; I'm just taking her out for some fun,” Nasir said dismissively. “You probably wouldn't understand what the younger crowd is into these days, so it’s best if you don’t come along. Besides, I’m going to make sure she has a great time tonight; we can talk about the marriage license another time.” For five years, Nasir had canceled our wedding plans ninety-nine times. I nodded. If he was always busy, there was really no point in going through with it. From the slightly open passenger window, Leah Palmer stuck out her tongue apologetically, "Sorry, Christina, Nasir's just spoiling me a bit.

Just like the evening breeze leaves no trace
Chapter 1 It was their seventh wedding anniversary. Carolyn found the divorce agreement in Roger’s nightstand. The pages were covered in scribbles and corrections, as if he’d agonized over them for years. *"If, during the marriage, I fall in love with another person, I voluntarily relinquish all assets and leave with nothing. Asset details as follows…"* His first impulse had been to walk away empty-handed. But the asset section told a different story—a mess of revisions. First, he’d crossed out the property he intended to give her. Then, the fifty million earmarked for her was scratched out and replaced with five hundred thousand. Finally, as if in penance, he had written a single line. *"Better to have Carolyn leave with nothing. No choice, Catherine is pregnant."* … Carolyn sank onto the bed, disbelief washing over her. On the agreement, Roger’s signature was clean and decisive, without a hint of hesitation. And the document had been drafted seven years ago—the very year they married. That year, Roger had been willing to give up everything for her. Yet every year after, he had crossed out another piece of their shared life. Now, seven years later, the one leaving with nothing would be her. Her phone buzzed abruptly. A message from Roger. *"Urgent business. Won't be back."* She called, only to find his phone already switched off. Another notification flashed—a screenshot from a friend. Catherine, the student she sponsored, had posted on social media. *"Wow, got praised! To commemorate my first period without a leak, the big boss said we should celebrate properly!"* In a nine-photo collage, Roger gazed at her, eyes crinkling with affection as he fastened a dazzling gemstone necklace around her neck. The post was tagged at a couples-themed hotel. Carolyn’s breath caught. He couldn’t remember seven years of marriage, of weathering storms together—but he could find the energy to celebrate Catherine’s… leak-free period. And that pendant… she’d seen it at an auction just last week. It was her mother’s lost heirloom. She’d been ready to bid when her bank card was frozen. She’d asked Roger why. A long time later, he finally texted back, telling her not to waste money on such impractical things. Clutching her bidding paddle, she’d sat helplessly in the auction hall. In the end, she resolved to sell one of her own designs to raise the funds. But someone on the phone swooped in with an unbeatable offer and took it. For weeks afterward, Carolyn hated herself—hated that she couldn’t protect her mother’s last keepsake. She never imagined the one who snatched it away was Roger. He knew exactly how much that pendant meant to her. Yet he gave it to Catherine. Even on their seventh anniversary, Roger had lied about being busy with work, while wining and dining the girl she’d sponsored. The anniversary gift he left her was a divorce agreement demanding she leave with nothing. Seven years of marriage. Seven years of infidelity. And Carolyn had known nothing. She’d even introduced the other woman to him herself. Catherine was the impoverished student Carolyn sponsored. The first time Catherine came to their home to give thanks, Roger found her intrusive and disliked her on sight. *"That girl has no manners. Tracked mud all over my cashmere rug."* *"If her grades aren’t up to par, cut the sponsorship."* Back then, Carolyn had teased him, saying not to be jealous—it was good the girl had a grateful heart. She never once suspected Roger and Catherine. For seven years, everyone in their circle believed Roger never played around. That he loved only Carolyn. But by their next meeting, Catherine had become Roger’s personal assistant. Roger explained, *"The girl’s had it tough. You’ve sponsored her for years. Giving her a job is just helping you out."* Carolyn had laughed it off. Now, hands trembling, she opened Catherine’s social media feed. Catherine had always hidden her posts from Carolyn. Now, she seemed desperate to flaunt everything. While Carolyn drank until her stomach bled to secure a deal for Roger, Catherine was using Roger’s card to buy her first Louis Vuitton. While Carolyn changed bedpans for Roger’s bedridden grandmother, Roger was taking Catherine to a perfume atelier for a blending class—calling it a business trip. Catherine had even complained online. *"Your wife is such a pampered princess. Can't handle the tiniest thing without you running back. Can she not live without a man?"* And Roger had replied beneath it. *"If she were half as independent as you, I’d have an easier life."* But that day… Carolyn’s mother had lost her battle with cancer. She’d cried until her heart felt shredded, scrambling to handle the arrangements. All the while, Roger kept checking his phone impatiently, eager to leave. Not for work, she realized now—but because he was desperate to get back to Catherine.
