Final Farewell; Letting Go of Yesterday

The ground was so cold. She felt dazed for a moment and her stomach felt even emptier. Her belly, which had been full like a swollen ball, suddenly deflated.

Then, where was her child?

Through the glass window, she could hear a loud conversation outside. Casey forced herself to regain her sanity and tiptoed to the side.

In a private hospital, a doctor in a white coat cradled a tiny baby in her arms, his voice trembling with disbelief.

"Mr. Olson, why are you doing this?" the doctor pleaded. "Even if you despise your wife and refuse to acknowledge your own bloodline, the baby is innocent!

"This little girl, born prematurely at barely four pounds, fought so fiercely to survive. She endured a landslide and still kept breathing. With proper care, she could live.”

"How could you..." His voice cracked as he stared at him in horror. "How could you smother her to death with a pillow?!"

With a click, tears fell rapidly, hitting the ground one by one.

Casey's heart broke into pieces.

It was gone after all.

Ethan killed her and her child with her own hands.

The man in front of her still looked cold and indifferent. He turned away and even thought it was dirty to take a look at the package in the doctor's arms.

“She should die early and be reborn sooner. She doesn't deserve to be born into this world.

“I promised Lily that I would only take care of her in this life and no one can take away my love for her.

“Besides, how could I let a woman of low status give birth to my child? Clean up this before Casey wakes up, understand?”

The doctor in a white coat looked at the bruised baby in his arms with pity and nodded.

“Mr. Olson, don't worry, I will keep this to myself and no one else will know about it,” he promised.

Ethan nodded perfunctorily and answered a phone call with obvious nervousness on his face.

“Lily was seriously frightened by that woman this time. I have to go and accompany her immediately.

“The baby girl should rush into the sewer immediately. I'll leave Casey to you. You know what to say.”

In the ward, Casey felt chilled to the bone, lying on the bed like a rusty machine, lifeless.

Lily boldly seduced Ethan and the two of them were so passionate that they could not help but start burning with passion on the bed next to her.

With tears shimmering in her eyes, Lily coaxed Ethan softly, "You two should get a divorce.

"I regret it. I don't want her carrying your child and I refuse to let you sleep with her just to produce an heir!"

Ethan's body swayed slightly at her words. His gaze darkened, sharp and unwavering as he looked straight at her.

"Impossible," he stated coldly. "Casey has been by my side for three or four years. She is a dutiful wife and a worthy Mrs. Olson.

"Anything else, I can agree to. But divorce? Never."

A flash of hatred emerged in Lily's eyes. She took out a bottle of pills from her arms and spoke in a pretentious tone, “In that case, feed this to her.

“If she eats one, she will be infertile for the rest of her life, just like me, a hen that only eats but cannot lay eggs.”

However, Ethan was speechless for a moment.

“Why? Are you reluctant to give it up?” Lily asked in agony.

Ethan firmly held Lily's small hand and kissed it gently.

“Of course not. You are the most important person in my heart. No one can compare to you.

“Otherwise, I have killed my own flesh and blood with Casey just for you before, so absolutely, I can do this thing.”

At the moment when the pill was about to enter her mouth, Casey opened her eyes, they were empty and clear.

This moment suddenly frightened the two of them. Lily took a step back and looked at her with an uncertain look.
