"Oh, by the way, let me share a little secret with you.
"The ashes you've been praying to so devoutly on the altar for the past three years? They're actually Lilibeth.
"As for your brother's ashes... Uncle fed them to a dog at my suggestion."
Seeing the woman in front of her widen her eyes in shock, Lily laughed triumphantly.
“Auntie, if you taste it carefully, you may still taste your brother in your mouth.”
Casey’s vision blurred as darkness clouded her eyes. She bit down on her lip so hard that the sharp tang of blood spread across her tongue.
She could no longer endure it. Her knees buckled and she collapsed to the ground, sobs wracking her body as tears poured down her face.
It was the final blow, the last straw that shattered her completely.
At night, as soon as she entered the ward, Ethan smashed the phone on her head.
“Casey, are you fucking crazy?” he yelled. “Who gave you the guts to hurt her? I've never said a harsh word to Lily since she was a child.”
The blood from the temple slowly flowed to the face, warm and moist and pain followed.
Casey swallowed the bitterness in his throat, “Ethan, don't you want to ask me the reason?”
“The puppy we picked up together three years ago was killed by Lily and stewed into soup. Is this a good enough reason?”
Ethan's brows relaxed for a moment, then frowned fiercely. He slapped the woman in the face, causing her to fall off the bed.
"Shut up! You're lying again. There's no way Lily would do something like that!
"You must have done something despicable to provoke such a gentle girl. And even if it’s true, it was just a dog. It's better off dead."
Just a dog that was better off dead?
Casey struggled to get up from the ground. At that moment, her heart died and the man in her memory also died.
Someone rushed in from outside the door and reported, “Mr. Olson, it's bad. Miss Haley committed suicide by cutting her wrists in the room. She fainted due to heavy bleeding.”
Ethan reacted and glared at Casey fiercely. "It's all your fault, you bitch! If anything happens to Lily, you're the only one to blame!"
Then, with a terrifying expression, he sneered, "Lack of blood? That’s an easy fix. Make her replenish twice as much as Lily lost."
Casey was tied to the operating table by a group of bodyguards.
Ethan ordered the doctor not to give her the anesthetic injection. He wanted her to experience the same pain that Lily had experienced.
“Draw now! Draw as much blood as Lily needs. Collect the excess blood and use it as an artificial blood bank.
“No need to hold back. This woman's life is worthless anyway. It's time to make her pay the price.”
Halfway through drawing blood, the doctor in a white coat ran out in a panic and told shocking news, “Mr. Olson, we really cannot continue to draw blood. Your wife cannot bear it.
“Also… she’s been pregnant for two months.”
Casey was physically and mentally exhausted throughout her pregnancy.
During the day, she was looked after by a group of caregivers and was given nutrient solution immediately if she went on a hunger strike.
At first she wanted to resist, but Ethan ordered his men to unplug the Internet cable in the villa and confiscate her phone, completely cutting off all contact between her and the outside world.
Casey could not bear it any longer and dragged her tired body to knock on Ethan's door.
“Ethan, let's get a divorce. I will find a way to pay you back the huge penalty later. Let me go, okay?”
No matter how Casey begged, the man remained unmoved. He looked at her as if she were a dead person. The woman was completely driven crazy.
“With your status and position, there are plenty of women out there who are willing to bear your children. Why are you so obsessed with me?!”
