“Hurry up and apologize to your sister!”
Sirena pulled herself back from her sadness, forced a smile and walked forward. “No need to apologize, I want to eat the soy milk cake made by Willow. Can you make me a cake?”
My mother’s eyes flashed with a trace of relief and she hurriedly advised me, “Isn’t this your best dessert? Willow, Sirena is giving you a way out. It’s really a bargain for you. Why don’t you go!”
I looked at Sirena’s increasingly proud expression, without moving and asked her, “Aren’t you allergic to soybeans? Do you want to blame me for your allergy again by insisting on eating the cake I made?”
Sirena’s face turned pale instantly.
In almost the blink of an eye, she came up and grabbed my hand, begging me in an innocent tone, “I’m sorry, Willow, I forgot! It’s all my fault that I shouldn’t have fallen down the stairs when I was a child, which caused my brain to be damaged and I forgot about the allergy! Don’t be angry, okay? I can eat other flavors!”
Her hypocritical and pretentious look made me feel ridiculous.
When I made soy milk cake for the first time, I didn’t know that she was allergic to soybeans.
At that time, I wanted to prove my sincerity to my sister.
Just because she said she liked it, I burned my hands countless times before I baked a perfect cake base.
As a result, Sirena fainted due to an allergic reaction.
After waking up, she immediately cried and threw herself into my parents’ arms.
“Uncle, Aunt, the cake is a gift from Willow. She said it’s okay to eat a bite. Please don’t blame her. It’s all my fault for being greedy!”
I stood helplessly in front of the bed, facing my parents’ resentful eyes.
“I didn’t know that Sirena was allergic to soybeans and she didn’t tell me…”
But what I got in return was not trust.
Instead, my father kicked me in the stomach and kicked me several meters away.
It hurt so much that I couldn’t even get up.
“The whole family knows, how could you not know? Don’t make such a cheap excuse! I think you just can’t tolerate your sister!”
So, I was locked in the room for three whole days.
Those three days were the nightmare of my life.
No food, no water and even no access to the bathroom.
When I was released, I was exhausted.
Thinking of this, I rejected her coldly, “I am not good at cooking, so I can’t make what you want. Go buy whatever you want.”
Sirena held my arm without giving up and her tone was a little more fearful. “Okay, I don’t want to eat the cake. Please don’t be angry, okay?”
As she spoke, a trace of resentment flashed in her eyes.
The hand that pinched my arm became stronger and stronger.
Until, I pulled my hand back in pain and she fell to the ground defenselessly.
Everyone’s face changed suddenly.
My mother quickly helped Sirena up and checked her injuries nervously.
Sirena seemed to have hit her elbow. She leaned into my mother’s arms and whimpered, “Mom, it hurts…”
Jack rolled up his sleeves, gently rubbed the joints a few times, turned around and scolded, “Willow! You’re too much!”
My father was even more furious and he came up and slapped me.
“Willow, you are so shameless! If you hadn’t pushed Sirena down the stairs when she was a child, would she have hurt her brain! If I had known you were so vicious, I shouldn’t have given birth to you! You are not allowed to eat tonight, go back to your room and reflect on yourself!”
This slap was almost full of strength.
I felt one of my back teeth fall out.
My mother saw the blood at the corner of my mouth and her eyes showed some pity.
