During Labor, My Boyfriend Leave

Now everything made sense. This wedding was never about me.

As soon as I entered the inner hall, I saw a group of people shoving my parents.

I rushed to support my mom who was about to fall and saw a swollen bruise on her forehead.

“Mom, what happened? Who did this?”

Mom tried to cover the wound with her hand and said, “I’m fine, Amelia. Why are you still in your hospital gown? Aren’t you the bride?”

The situation happened too suddenly and I hadn’t had the chance to tell my parents yet.

I thought for a long time but couldn’t find the right words.

A disdainful voice came from nearby. “You two country bumpkins, how dare you claim to be Mr. Walker’s in-laws? It’s truly laughable.”

“This girl doesn’t look like anything special either. She probably wants to climb the ladder through a man, but too bad no one’s interested.”

Laughter from the crowd echoed around us. My dad stepped forward, shielding my mom and me. Even so, my mom was still concerned about my health.

Guilt spread through my body and I was choking up, unable to speak. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ryan. I gently patted my mom's hand and called out, “Ryan, please help me!”

Hearing my call, Ryan came over. However, his breath, which had just calmed, tensed up again.

He looked at me with distance and said, “Henry was right. You'd cling to him, so he told me to stay and keep an eye on you.”

With a wave of his hand, several security guards came over and grabbed my parents and me tightly.

I looked at Ryan in confusion. “What are you doing? I just want to take my parents and leave. Let go of us!”

As we struggled, the doors of the hall suddenly opened. In the shifting light, Henry entered, holding Daisy’s hand.

I didn’t know when, but my dad rushed forward, shouting, “You brat, how dare you hurt my daughter!”

But age had caught up with him and Henry easily shoved him to the ground.

Panicked, I bit one of the security guards' hands and rushed to my father’s side. “Henry, you can hurt me, but why hurt my father? Dad, are you okay?”

Henry didn’t even glance our way, continuing to hold Daisy’s hand as he walked ahead.

Facing the whispers of the guests, Henry took the microphone. “Everyone, I’m sorry for the disturbance. That person is someone who loved me but couldn’t have me. She tried to ruin my wedding with Daisy. Unfortunately, I only love Daisy.”

Amid the applause of the guests, Henry slipped the wedding ring onto Daisy’s finger.

In the meantime, my dad, overwhelmed by the sudden shock, suffered a heart attack. I panicked and frantically searched my dad’s body for his medication, but I found nothing.

I turned to look for my mom, but she was too far away in the crowd.

With trembling hands, I grabbed my phone and called ambulance.

The hall was too far and the doctor suggested that we both head out and meet along the way.

I looked up at the crowd, tugging at people to help. But one by one, they pushed me away with disdain, saying, “You want to be a mistress? This is your retribution, you deserve it.”

The overwhelming fear made me place all my hope on Henry.

“Henry, please, please save my dad.”

Henry dodged my hand and glanced at my father.

Just as I thought he was about to act, Daisy grabbed his hand again.

“Henry, her parents are the most important. Our wedding can be held at any time.”

Henry immediately stopped in his tracks and carressed Daisy's head. “How can that be? No one can ruin our wedding.”

“Amelia, you’re really something. You even convinced your own parents to put an act. Is this really how much you love me?”

Henry shoved me forcefully in the chest and my stomach crashed against the steps.

The pain was unbearable.

But I couldn’t focus on that. I scrambled toward my father. His face was turning increasingly pale and I struggled to lift him up.

Before I could steady myself, he collapsed once again.

The crowd gasped and my mom's cries filled the air.

“What’s happening?”

I looked down and saw a large pool of blood beneath me, though I hadn’t noticed when it appeared.

Henry shot me an angry glare. “You’re truly disgusting, just here to make a scene. You couldn’t even handle things properly when it mattered.”

The onlookers looked at me with disdain, some even throwing fruit peels at me.

I held back my tears and tried to lift my dad with my mom’s help. “Dad, I’ll take you away!”

“Not so fast. You think you can cause trouble and leave so easily?” Henry was furious. He called over the security guards, insisting that I apologize before I could leave.

Seeing Daisy’s triumphant face, a storm of hatred surged within me.

But my dad's condition was worsening, so I could only grit my teeth and apologize. However, they were not satisfied and pushed further, demanding that I kneel and apologize.

“Honey, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me!”

My mother’s scream echoed in the air.

I turned around to see that my dad was foaming at the mouth.

“Kneel, you already want to be a mistress, now you’re abandoning your own father?” The voices of the guests rose and fell and with my eyes closed, I kneel on one leg.

Just as I was about to drop fully to my knees, a hand gripped my arm and stopped me.

“I’ll see who dares to make her kneel.”
