I pushed the heavy metal door to the locker room open just a crack.
The corridor was dead quiet. Usually, after a practice, this place echoed with shouts and the slamming of iron doors. Today, the silence felt heavy. I had cleared my entire afternoon schedule for this surprise. Dennis loved surprises. Or so he told me.
A wet, slapping sound echoed from the training area.
"Fuck, Amy. Right there. Take my fucking cock."
I froze in my tracks. That was Dennis. My boyfriend of three years.
"Ah, Dennis, fuck my pussy harder," a high-pitched voice whined.
Amy. His twenty-two-year-old assistant.
I stepped around the bank of lockers, my stomach turning to lead.
He had her bent over the massage table. Her bare ass was in the air, her skirt hiked up to her waist, and her panties hung around her ankles. Dennis stood behind her, his shorts pooled around his knees. He gripped her hips, driving his hard dick deep into her wet cunt with brutal force.
"You like my dick, you fucking slut?" he grunted, his hips snapping forward to bury himself to the hilt.
"Yes! God, fuck me, Dennis! Ruin my pussy!" Amy squealed, her fingers digging into the padded leather of the table.
He pulled almost all the way out, the friction making a loud, wet smacking noise, before plunging back inside her.
I didn't scream. I didn't cry. Instead, a bizarre, dry laugh scraped out of my throat.
The slapping stopped instantly.
Dennis snapped his head toward me. He didn't even look panicked. He just looked annoyed.
He pulled out of her, his dick slick and glistening under the fluorescent lights, and casually reached for a towel on the nearby bench.
"Laura. What the hell are you doing here?" he asked.
Amy scrambled to pull her skirt down, her face flushing bright red. She darted behind his broad frame.
"What am I doing here?" I asked, stepping fully into the damp room. "I came to see my boyfriend. My secret boyfriend."
"Keep your voice down," Dennis hissed, wrapping the white towel around his waist.
"Why? Afraid someone will find out?" I took another step forward. "Afraid Adam will find out his best friend is fucking his assistant while stringing his sister along for three years?"
Dennis marched toward me, his jaw tight. "You're acting crazy. Leave."
"I'm acting crazy?" I shoved his bare chest. "I gave you three years, Dennis! I built your entire fucking career!"
He shoved me back. Hard.
My sneakers slipped on the wet tile. I slammed into the metal lockers, my shoulder hitting the steel before I crumpled to the floor. Sharp pain shot up my side.
"Don't touch me," he snarled, standing over me.
I stared up at him. The man I loved. The man I hid from my parents, from my brother, just to protect his precious soccer star image.
"I'm done with you, Laura," he said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion.
"Done?" I whispered.
"Yeah. I lost interest a long time ago." He gestured at me with a sneer. "Look at yourself. You're not even pretty anymore. You're just exhausting. Stop bothering me."
Amy peeked out from behind him, a smug little smirk playing on her lips.
"She really is pathetic, Dennis," Amy chimed in, adjusting her blouse.
"Shut your mouth, Amy, before I rip your hair out," I spat.
"Don't talk to her like that," Dennis warned, pointing a finger at my face.
"Three years of sneaking around," I said, ignoring his threat. "Three years of hiding from my own brother."
"Adam is my teammate," Dennis snapped. "You think I want him knowing I'm fucking his sister?"
"You told me it was to protect your image!"
"It was to protect my sanity. You cling to me like a parasite."
"A parasite?" I gripped the edge of the bench and hauled myself up. "I run your Instagram. I write every single caption that makes you look like a saint. I reply to your fans. I secured your Nike deal!"
"And I pay you a percentage," he shot back, grabbing his gym bag from the floor. "It was a business arrangement. You got confused."
"We slept together for three years! You told me you loved me!"
"I said what I had to say to keep you working." He pulled a fresh shirt over his head. "You're good at PR, Laura. I'll give you that. But as a girlfriend? You're boring."
My chest tightened. The sheer cruelty in his eyes was something I had never seen before. Or maybe I just refused to see it.
"Come on, Amy. Let's get out of here," Dennis said, slinging his bag over his shoulder.
"You're a piece of shit," I said, my voice trembling with raw fury.
Dennis paused at the door. He turned back, a mocking smile on his face.
"Tell Adam whatever you want. He won't believe you anyway. I'm the star captain of this team. You're just his crazy, obsessed sister."
"He's my brother," I countered.
"And I'm his ticket to the championships. We'll see who he chooses."
The heavy metal door swung shut behind them, the latch clicking into place with absolute finality.
Silence returned to the locker room.
I stood alone, the dampness from the floor seeping through the knees of my jeans.
I had crafted his perfect persona. The humble, hardworking athlete. The golden boy who loved charities and respected women. It was all a lie. I was the architect of his fame, the ghostwriter of his entire public existence.
A strange calm washed over me. I didn't shed a single tear.
I looked at the wet spot on the tiles where they had just been fucking.
My hands curled into tight fists, my nails digging into my palms until the skin nearly broke.
He thought I was just going to walk away. He thought he could keep the empire I built for him, the millions of fans I curated, the brand deals I negotiated.
He called me a parasite. He called me boring.
I pulled my phone from my pocket and opened his social media account. The one with five million followers. The one I still had master access to.
He was right about one thing. I was done being a secret.
My thumb hovered over the live broadcast button. If Dennis wanted to show the world his true colors, I was more than happy to hold the camera.
