Andy is in the hospital again?
My heart suddenly clenched, and Ignoring the punches and kicks from everyone who took the opportunity to hit me, I squeezed out of the crowd, hailed a taxi, and headed straight to Riverside Children's Hospital.
In the ward, Andy was lying on the bed with a pale face, while Richard and Vanessa were guarding him on either side.
As soon as I entered the ward, the doctor started to lecture me:
"Didn't I tell him not to eat shrimp when he was discharged from the hospital? Why did you feed him shrimp again?"
"I don't……"
Before he finished speaking, Andy turned away and complained weakly to Richard:
"Dad, it was Mom who insisted that I eat shrimp. She said shrimp is nutritious and Andy will get better soon after eating it..."
"Dad, can you let Vanessa be my mom?"
I was struck by lightning.
When did Andy learn to lie?
Vanessa hugged Andy, her eyes red:
"Evelyn, what are you doing? Can't you talk it out and solve it? The child is innocent..."
Richard couldn't stand it anymore, so he rushed over and slapped me in the face:
"Even a tiger won't eat its own cubs! Why are you so angry with me? Why are you trying to hurt Andy?"
I staggered and held onto the wall, my cheeks burning with pain.
At this time, Richard's assistant hurried in and handed me an exquisite gift box:
"Madam, this was specially flown back from Italy by Mr. Sterling. Could you please stop making a fuss..."
Are you giving me a slap in the face and then giving me a sweet date?
I sneered, took the gift box and handed it directly to Vanessa:
"Take it. There's no need to go to all that trouble to get it."
Richard's face turned pale and he snatched the gift box and opened it.
Inside was a set of jewellery of considerable value.
He put the necklace on Vanessa's neck himself and yelled at me:
"Get lost! I will never do such a self-humiliating thing again!"
I turned to leave, but my grandmother stopped me:
"You want to run away now? You caused my grandson to be hospitalized, and you don't even want to pay for the medical expenses?"
I scanned the code and paid Andy's medical expenses, and asked him:
"Andy, why did you lie? You..."
He suddenly burst into tears and lost control:
"Get out! You are a bad woman, I don't want you to be my mother anymore!"
Vanessa's eyes were filled with pride and excitement, and I no longer wanted to take Andy away.
Richard's blood runs in his bones, so he can change his heart so decisively.
Three days later, I arrived at the civil affairs bureau on time, but Richard was not there.
His assistant brought me a new divorce agreement, and this time it was me who violated the pre-nuptial agreement.
"Mr. Sterling said that if you sign, he will consider allowing you to visit the children regularly."
I tore up the agreement:
"Tell him we'll see you in court."
I hired a top lawyer to file an appeal immediately, but unexpectedly, Richard acted even faster.
The next day I received a court summons. He took the initiative to file for divorce on the grounds of extramarital affair and child abuse.
On the day of the trial, all the relatives and friends who could come came. They were all Richard's supporters and looked at me with contempt.
Including my parents.
Richard came over in a suit and tie and whispered:
"It's not too late for you to regret now. As long as you stop making trouble and don't interfere with my night fishing, I can give you another chance."
My parents also came over and gave a cold warning:
"Don't block your way out. If you admit your mistake now, Richard can still forgive you, and we will also acknowledge you as his daughter."
I ignored him and walked straight to the dock.
The trial began, and Richard's lawyer made an impassioned speech, listing all the charges against me.
