Chapter 1 of BETRAYED BY MY ALPHA MATE
PRICILLA
“I will gladly die if that's what it is,” I said into the phone before I hung up.
My lips quivered and my bloodied eyes stung with unshed tears as I gazed at the evidence of my mate's betrayal before me.
I let out a bitter laugh and grabbed Alpha Myron's favorite leather jacket searching the pockets for more female panties but I didn't see any except the pink pants that sprawled on the floor mocking my attempt to hold back.
I was feeling bored, so I went into his room to arrange the clothes that was scattered around, and ended up searching his pockets for candies. He was fond of leaving candies in his pockets to appease me, so I dug around but instead of candies, I found a pink lace thong.
I know the underwear in my possession, and I'm certain this wasn't mine. My heart raced when I recalled that Elena once wore this particular thong to seduce my husband once, but I caught them when I barged into his office a month ago.
“Six years…” I muttered, tears rolling down my cheeks.
Six years ago I eloped from the Crimson Pack to the Silverline Pack when my parents refused me to marry him. Myron.
With the connections I had as the daughter of a powerful and wealthy Alpha, I was able to make my mate actualize his dreams of being a successful businessman.
However, three years after our marriage, Elena showed up in the pack. No one knew which pack she came from and who she was but one thing was certain, she was the daughter of a wealthy businessman and she wanted to be Myron's secretary.
With Elena’s connections, she pulled more weight and brought more influential people into the company, tripling Myron’s company profit by millions of dollars.
That's when it started, Myron began to sway toward Elena. He doted on Elena, she became his favorite person and gradually he ignored my whole existence.
He didn't outright announce their affair but my intuitions were never wrong, so I suspected them. What more to say?
His late nights out, late phone calls and most times texting, and now this… What was her panties doing in his jacket?
I've already made up my mind to leave, but I decided I was going to see Myron and demand the truth from him this time. He hasn't been home since two days ago.
I took a shower and dressed up. The cab took me straight to his office and I paid. I stared at the huge company I helped him build over the years.
Myron never offered me a position here. He would always say that he loved how I stayed at home to tend to the house and how I felt fresh anytime he cuddles me.
But ever since Elena appeared in our lives, she became his favorite person. Every day he praised her, I was so naive and didn't realize it then even when the signs were before me.
I pulled out my red lipstick, painted my lips to look fierce and adjusted my jacket, the one Alpha Myron got for me on my birthday.
I entered the elevator and headed to the last floor. As I stepped out, the receptionist saw me and smiled politely at me.
“Good morning, Luna, the Alpha is in a meeting with the shareholders,” she explained.
I nodded, “Don’t worry, I can wait.”
I bashed into the office and the sight of Elena sitting on my husband’s chair with her leg sprawled across the table welcomed me.
Immediately she saw me, her eyes bulged with surprise as she sprang up from the chair. Heads bowed, she smiled nervously at me.
“Luna, I'm sorry. I was just waiting for the Alpha, I don't know what came over me,” she pleaded.
I scoffed, “Spare me the drama, Elena, I can see right through your act.”
As if she was waiting to pounce on me, Elena raised her head and stared at me with defiantly, the terrified expression she once had on her face had vanished.
“I’m trying to be nice, Pricilla,” she retorted.
I was momentarily stunned by the change in her attitude and the coldness of her voice. I've always expected it, but it came too soon.
“You've finally dropped the act, huh?” I asked.
“Why are you here? Your husband isn't here,” she snapped at me.
“You forgot this in his pocket,” I blurted, flinging a black nylon at her.
She caught it mid air and tore it open revealing the content. A coy smile formed on her lips when she saw what was inside.
"Just this?" She asked, her voice mocking my appearance.
“Next time don't forget your underwear,” I warned.
Elena chuckled, “Did you think I forgot this? It’s not my fault your obsessed mate desired a part of me to be with him whenever he was stuck with you!”
My hands moved before I could even think and I slapped her hard across her face. She clutched her cheeks and smiled, her eyes red and her lips split.
“Whatever happens between Myron and you is none of my concern but don't you ever open your skunk to talk to me in that manner ever again!” I slammed at her, my whole body vibrating with anger.
"For all I care, you deserve every bad thing that happens to you." She said.
She grabbed my arm and screamed, “Luna, please, have mercy! I'm sorry.”
“Let me go,” I groaned, free my arm from her grasp.
She let go, took three steps back and slammed her head on the side of the table. My eyes widened.
My fear gave in, and I let out a scream while staring at Elena whose blood had soaked the carpet as she lay lifelessly on the floor.
