"Emma! What the fuck take you so fucking long! Bring you daughter now!" One of the werewolf called out for Emma, others rubbed their hands very impatiently.
"They asked for me?" Ophelia knew they couldn't hide from them for so long. The defeat in her mother's eyes forced her to make it appear as she wasn't hurting.
"It's fine. I'll go and see what they want now," she walked past her mother to the pit. Emma couldn't bring herself to go and watch her daughter being ogled by the beasts awaiting her.
Ophelia wasn't the one to sit back and cry, she would rather face the fear and get over it than to make matters force for her mother and little sister by resisting.
Ophelia kept her head lower all this time, avoiding their disgusting and lustful eyes.

"And you, go prepare our meal," He glared at Ophelia to get out of these men's sight before he loses his patience with them.
"Since my brother is here, I guess we can enjoy the meal in love and peace." Kaiden sat off to another seat and put himself a very calm face.
Not a single word more was leaked about the commotion that had just happened.
Ophelia ran back to the back side of the tavern and instantly filled her mother in a tight embrace.
"Please tell me they did not hurt you," Emma pled through her misty eyes, tightening her arms around her daughter.
"Prince Gideon arrived," she announced and her mother instantly broke the hug.
"Oh! He always comes around for help. He isn't like them, I guess," Emma said while zoning out, what she and the world didn't know was that Gideon was this kind because he loved Ophelia, his entire world revolved around her.
Finally, the mother and daughter served them the food and soon after, they left. Gideon made sure everybody left before him so that he can protect and defend Ophelia in any case and from any trouble.
"Thank you," Ophelia secretly mouthed, her eyes saving Gideon's image in her eyes while he smiled back before leaving the Tavern.
"I wish Prince Gideon is chosen over Prince Kaiden. Prince Gideon will make a better alpha king for our land," Emma hadn't stopped praising Gideon ever since they stepped a foot inside their home.
"Does mother know?" Isla whispered once their mother had left to attend the bathroom.
"No, only you know," Ophelia eyed Isla to keep things private as nobody else knew about her and Gideon.
While Ophelia was busy in cooking a meal for the night, Isla had sneaked out of the house.
