Alpha! Our Mate Bond Is Done For Me

Alpha Darren rushed a few steps forward but seemed hesitant. He turned around and asked, "Daniella, you have the ability as a healer. This is just a minor injury—you can handle it yourself, right?" Minor injury? Just a few minutes ago, he had just said it was serious. Or maybe, in his world, she would never be more important than Camilla.

Daniella remembered one night last summer. Her finger was scratched while slicing a watermelon, and her nail almost broke too. Alpha Darren was by her side, carrying her and forcing her to sit on the sofa while the Alpha took care of her, even though it was just a small cut, not a serious injury. Now, thinking about how much has changed, Daniella's chest felt tight, and her eyes welled up with uncontrollable tears.

Daniella turned quickly, not wanting the man to see her fragile state. Even though she was an healer, this was nothing serious, and she could handle it with her abilities. But he left Daniella in this state for the sake of a wounded Camilla. Isn't it obvious that Daniella is no more important than that wolf woman? Daniella's gaze suddenly fell on a coat with a missing button—a reminder of the bitter events from a week ago.

That night, Daniella went to meet Uncle Jerremy, who was holding a meeting with the healers. They all partied, and Daniella drank too much. Because Uncle Jeremy's place is in a remote area, it's difficult to get a vehicle at night.

Besides, Daniella was not as strong as the werewolves who could come and go easily without a vehicle. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Daniella tried to use telepathy, but she remembered that their telepathy had been blocked by the Alpha since Camilla's return among them. Half-conscious and with a shaky voice, Daniella tried to call her Alpha. "Alpha, I can't find a ride. Can you pick me up?"

At that moment, Alpha Darren was having dinner with Camilla. Camilla's spoiled voice, trying to feed the Alpha, could even be heard and understood by the drunken Daniella. "I am with Camilla. It's already late at night, and it's not safe for her to go home alone. Wait another two hours; I will take her home first, or you can contact Beta Collin to pick you up." He didn't even ask his own Beta to pick up Daniella. Instead, he asked Daniella to contact him herself. Alpha Darren was very concerned about Camilla's safety but never thought that Daniella was also a woman alone at night.

Moreover, Daniella is just a healer, in the middle of the night, where the entire pack knows that she is the future Luna. But Daniella was considered by the Alpha to be stronger than Camilla, the she-wolf. Daniella walked twenty kilometers in the dark before the headlights of the Alpha's black car suddenly pierced through the night. Ah, Daniella remembered they had just had dinner together; that's why the Alpha came with his luxury car.

"Daniella, are you crazy? Do you think lying is fun? I have circled the location you gave me and didn't see you anywhere!" Alpha Darren shouted.

"I am not lying, I am just..." Before Daniella could finish her sentence, Alpha Darren roared, pulled her into the car, and slammed the door shut. The sound of metal buttons clinking against the floor was barely audible amidst his angry tirade. His strength as an Alpha sent shivers down Daniella's spine when the man was angry. However, since that day, Daniella understood—she would never be as important as Camilla to the Alpha.

Forcing a smile, Daniella said softly, "I am a healer. I can handle it. You have to go—don't keep Camilla waiting." Any concerns that Alpha Darren might have felt towards her vanished as those words were spoken. Moments after the Alpha truly left, Daniella decided to go to Jerremy's uncle house.

There will be many healers coming there every day; chatting with them is much better than lamenting her fate as a pitiful Luna candidate. Daniella lifted her head. She wiped the corners of her wet eyes. She didn't care about her sprained ankle; she could still use the Alpha's vehicle that was at their house.

During her journey, Daniella counted how many times Alpha Darren had left her for Camilla, and she had already lost track of the count. Camilla's cheerful and spoiled voice on the phone? Any healer knows well that Camilla is not sick.

However, Alpha Darren always acts as if he is under Camilla's influence, eagerly running to fulfill her calls. Sometimes Daniella really felt like they were true mates, but Alpha Darren never explained anything about Camilla other than that she was just a childhood friend who was a she-wolf. Limping, Daniella finally arrived at Uncle Jeremy's residence. As expected, many of the healers there seemed to have nothing to do.

Some of Daniella's fellow healers, who knew her well, teased her as she entered, their tone filled with playful jokes. "Daniella, you and Alpha Darren really need to relax during the day! Don't let yourselves get too tired."

"That's right, Daniella. Alpha Darren is the leader of the strongest pack; he is the backbone of the pack. If you exhaust him and he can't perform his duties as an Alpha, you might face protests from many of the pack."

Daniella forced an awkward smile and waved her hand as a sign of impossibility; in reality, no one dared to protest their Alpha partner. And again, the reason for her limp was that she rolled up her pants to show her swollen and bruised ankle. "Not like that. My ankle was just sprained when I hurried here," Daniella explained, perhaps to cover up the chaos in her relationship with the Alpha for the umpteenth time.
