After Rebirth, I Ruined His Alpha Reign

Alexandria POV:

The heavy iron door swung open with a hollow groan.

My father, Lord Robert Torres, strode in, his face a mask of stern, cold authority. Tucked right behind his elbow was my half-sister Christal, her expression a toxic cocktail of glee and anticipation, waiting to see me broken.

Then, they stopped dead.

Robert’s jaw slackened for a fraction of a second before his pride forced it shut. Christal’s smug smile curdled into sheer, comical shock.

Instead of the whimpering, bloody Omega girl they had left chained to the damp wall, I stood tall in the center of the cellar. Rusted iron cuffs lay shattered at my feet like broken toys. In my hand, a heavy length of iron chain hung coiled, resting against my thigh like a sleeping serpent. In the shadows behind me, two burly guards were pressed flat against the stone wall, their faces pale as corpses, trembling under my gaze.

Robert’s shock turned into a flash of purple rage.

"Alexandria!" he roared, his voice echoing off the damp ceiling. "Who gave you permission to strike your guards and break those chains?!"

Christal recovered her tongue, screeching, "Father, look at her! She attacked them! She’s gone completely mad!"

I ignored her. My eyes locked onto the man who called himself my father—the man who had condemned me to rot without asking for a single word of truth.

Instead of lunging at his throat, I let my shoulders slump ever so slightly. I let my chin tremble, pitching my voice into a desperate, wounded quire.

The act burned in my throat like acid. But a true commander knows when to play the dove before turning into the hawk.

"Father," I whispered, my voice cracked, yet impossibly clear. "I only wish to know... what crime I committed to deserve being whipped and chained like a rabid beast?"

The quiet directness of the question, layered over a frail, trembling posture, threw him off. He frowned, his eyes darting between my raw wounds and my calm eyes.

"You stole your stepmother's jewels!" he barked, though his voice lacked its previous bite. "And you show no remorse!"

A soft, sharp sound escaped my lips—a bitter laugh.

"Stole?"

I took a slow, agonizing step toward Christal. The heavy iron chain dragged along the flagstones with a harsh, scraping sound—shhh-shhh—like a blade being drawn across a whetstone.

Christal flinched, instinctively cowering behind Robert’s broad back.

"Christal claims she found the stolen velvet box under my pillow," I said softly, my voice quavering just enough to sound fragile. "Father, I am an Omega who owns nothing in this estate worth locking away. Why would a thief hide a massive, diamond-encrusted box under the thinnest straw mattress in the house? Does that sound like a thief... or someone setting a trap she knew you wouldn't question?"

Robert’s thick brow furrowed. A flicker of cold doubt flashed across his eyes. He knew the politics of this house better than anyone. He enforcement them. For the first time, he began to realize how absurd the accusation actually sounded.

Before he could process it, I turned my gaze toward the terrified guards.

"And you two," I purred, my voice dropping an octave, razor-sharp beneath the softness. "Who ordered you to whip my personal maid?"

The guards stammered, their sweat-sheened faces darting frantically toward Christal, then away from Robert's darkening glare. Their panicked silence spoke louder than a confession.

"Was it Miss Christal?" I pressed, letting the chain rattle loudly on the floor. "Or was it Lady Eleanor? Tell me, Father... under the ancient laws of the House of Torres, what is the punishment for a servant abusing the personal retainer of an heir without the Lord's explicit order? And what is the punishment for falsely framing a noble daughter?"

With every word, the color drained from Christal’s face. "Father, no! She's lying! She's—"

"Silence!" Robert boomed, his voice a clap of thunder that shook the stone walls.

He was not a stupid man. He saw the trap closing around him. If news leaked that his favored daughter and wife were overriding his authority to torture household servants, it would be a scandal that would make the nobility laugh at his incompetence.

He stared at me, a cold calculation running through his eyes. He realized the quiet girl he used to ignore was gone. In her place stood someone who knew the exact rules of his own game—and was using them to corner him.

"The guards overstepped their bounds," Robert declared coldly, making his decision to save face. "Take them away. Fifty lashes each."

The two guards gasped, but before they could beg, Robert’s personal knights dragged them up the stone stairs. Their fate meant nothing to me.

I wasn't finished.

I walked over to the dark corner and gently helped Jade to her feet. She clung to my torn sleeve, her bruised body shivering, her eyes wide with disbelieving hope.

"Father," I said, turning back to him, my tone firm, leaving no room for argument. "My maid is severely injured because of this 'misunderstanding.' Send for the estate physician immediately, and provide the finest healing salves from the family vault."

Robert’s jaw tightened. The humiliation of being commanded by the daughter he had cast away burned in his chest. But under the eyes of his knights, he couldn't refuse without looking like a cruel tyrant.

"Fetch the doctor," he barked to a page outside the door, his voice thick with suppressed rage.

He had lost this round, and he knew it.

Supporting Jade, I slowly walked past Christal. As I drew parallel to her, I paused. Leaning in close, my lips brushed the shell of her ear, my whisper so soft and deadly that only she could hear:

"This is just the beginning, sister. Your sweet, peaceful days are over."

A violent shudder racked Christal’s body. Pure, unadulterated terror flared in her eyes. She opened her mouth to snap back, to reclaim her authority, but no sound came out. The sheer menace in my gaze had stolen her voice.

I didn't give her a second glance.

With my head held high and Jade leaning on my shoulder, I walked out of the dark, reeking dungeon and stepped into the grand, sunlit corridor above.

Behind us, I heard my father’s voice booming down at Christal—sharp, suspicious, and full of cold scrutiny.

The seed of doubt had been planted. The crack in their foundation was made.

I closed my eyes for a brief second, letting the warm sunlight kiss my bruised skin. Thirty thousand dead souls were still waiting for their vengeance. But today, I had walked out on my own two feet.
