After Keeping Summer Camp Funds, I Spent 20K Extra

Truly the best actor of the year.

I sneered and was about to quit when a new message popped up.

[Scarlett: @All members, Ryan has contacted the person in charge and reported the situation to Rose's tutor. The school will intervene, don't worry, not a penny of our money will be lost! ]

My mentor?

My heart sank.

Sure enough, within five minutes, the tutor called.

On the other end of the phone, his voice was as gentle as always, but every word was like an icicle.

"Rose, summer camp is also a small society. You need to learn how to handle interpersonal relationships."

"Sometimes, taking a step back can open up a new world."

“The school’s reputation is important, and so is your future.”

"If you are really stressed, you can consider...ending summer camp early."

He didn't say a word of accusation, but it made me feel colder than any other accusation.

The next day, I became the plague of the camp.

When I went to the cafeteria to get food, the auntie who usually gave me an extra spoonful of meat suddenly shook and all the ribs in the spoon fell back into my mouth.

I was only given a spoonful of bland cabbage.

The plate hit the tray heavily, making a harsh sound.

I carried my food tray and passed by the campers who had once been my close friends...

They immediately fell silent and turned their heads away, as if I were some dirty thing.

The teamwork activity in the afternoon was a tent setting up competition.

Ryan Scarlett and I were "unexpectedly" assigned to the same group.

Ryan handed me a support pole, and as soon as I took it, he let go with an "ouch".

The tent fabric collapsed with a loud bang, falling right on my head.

Scarlett laughed sharply, "Rose, you can't even set up a tent, and you want to manage our money?"

"Be a good person before doing anything. If you don't have good character, you won't be able to do anything!"

There was laughter all around.

The person in charge came over and looked at me with a frown.

"Rose, go and have a rest over there first, don't affect the team's progress."

I was officially isolated.

I tried to explain to Mia, with whom I had a good relationship before.

She avoided his gaze and waved her hands repeatedly.

"Rose, don't look for me. I don't know anything."

"Scarlett's family has a background, I...I can't afford to offend her."

Yeah, she can't afford to offend.

Can I afford to offend him?

At night, I sat alone in the dormitory, watching the lively bonfire party outside the window.

Those laughters and joy were like knives stabbing my heart.

The phone screen was lit up, showing an ultimatum from the tutor.

"Rose, please submit an application for leaving the camp yourself tomorrow. It will be better for everyone."

I dragged my suitcase and walked on the empty street.

The wheels rolled through the gaps between the tiles, making a clattering sound.

The whole world has abandoned me.

Just when I felt I was about to be swallowed by despair, I caught a glimpse of a bus stop advertising light box on the side of the road.

"Legal aid, protect your rights."

etc.

A thought shot through my brain like an electric current.

My minor in college was accounting.

I personally recorded every financial account of the summer camp.

I have a habit of backing up important files.

I immediately turned around and rushed into the cheapest Internet cafe on the street.

The receptionist looked at me as if I were a lunatic who had run away from home.

I don't care.

Turn on the computer and insert the USB drive I carry with me.

A folder named "Public Treasury-Confidential Backup" lay there quietly.

I clicked it.
