A Resemblance to Sophie

"Laura, Sophie has a childish temper, you just need to give in to her."

"Besides, she won't be able to compete with you in the future. All our love will be given to you, and everyone will revolve around you. Just let her be, okay?"

Tears flowed uncontrollably.

But I'm sick too, why don't you let me go?

Half a year ago, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The doctor said I could live for half a year at most, and one month at least.

Looking at James who loved me deeply and Margaret who had depended on me for seven years, I didn't know how to tell them.

I made the story I had previously written about my love experience with him into a happy love script, and prepared to film it so that they would have something to think about in the future.

This script was highly praised by industry leaders, who said it has a great chance of winning an award.

At this time, Sophie returned to Newyork to find James and Margaret, saying that she only had a month to live, and hoped that when she died, she could fulfill her childhood dream and become a famous actor.

James forced my script on her.

I knelt down and begged him, saying that I was sick and this was my dream.

He took out my diagnosis certificate from the drawer, slapped it on my face, and laughed:

"Which crew made this prop? It even has the signature of the chief physician."

"You were sick earlier or later. When Sophie came back, you said you were sick. Can't you see her like that?"

"She's almost dying, and you still want to compete with her?"

James wiped my tears with his thumb and brought me back from my memories.

He pleaded in a low voice.

"Laura, I'm so tired, can you let me rest for a while?"

"Sophie saved my life in the Alps Mountains before. There's no way I'm going to deny her a last-ditch request."

Before leaving, he came back and gave me a quick kiss on the forehead.

"Don't worry, I will make you public in a month and give you a huge wedding."

"Everything I have is yours."

"Will you wait for me?"

After I was discharged from the hospital, James bought a Suburban Villa in my name as our wedding house.

I also hired a nanny to take care of my life.

One day, I woke up with a dull pain in my chest, and then I vomited a mouthful of blood.

I panicked.

Call James.

Call Margaret.

But no one answered.

When I was about to despair, James answered the phone.

I cried in fear: "James, please come back soon, I am dying."

The other side was stunned for a long time before his angry voice rang out:

"Laura, why are you acting like a child?"

"You knew that Margaret and I were going to the playground with Sophie today, but you called to disturb us on purpose."

"If you need anything, just find a babysitter."

After saying that, he turned off the phone.

But he forgot that the nanny had to take a leave today due to some urgent matters, and he promised to come back to take care of me.

I was in so much pain that I rolled out of bed and wanted to go downstairs to take medicine.

I climbed to the stairs, but without my legs, I couldn’t go down.

The pain in my chest made me feel a little dizzy, and in an instant I rolled from the second floor to the first floor.

My whole body felt like it was cramping and my bones were being pulled out, and my front teeth were broken and my mouth was full of blood.

I finally crawled to the dining table, hoping to gain some leverage.

I accidentally pulled the tablecloth and the tableware and breakfast milk spilled all over the floor.

I completely passed out from the pain.

After waking up, James and Margaret came back.

Seeing the mess on the floor, James couldn't help but slap me.

"Why are you so ignorant? Just because I didn't get back in time, you lost your temper and smashed everything in the house?"
