Before he could finish speaking, I suddenly poured the red wine in my hand all over his face.
"If what you said is true, then Mr. Blythe must be very drunk at the party today, right? In that case, you should drink more. Maybe it’ll make you sober."
The deep red liquid dripped down Addison’s hair, which stained his face and clothes. Compared to me who stood neat and composed, he looked completely humiliated. But Addison could only glare at me, his eyes filled with fury.

The room fell silent. No one had expected Vanessa to be so ruthless toward Addison. Addison shot me a venomous glare before turning on his heel and storming out of the hall.
Watching Addison leave, I smirked slightly. He dared to provoke me in public, knowing full well that I was Vanessa’s legitimate husband. How could he expect her to take his side?
At that moment, Vanessa’s phone rang. She answered it quickly and as soon as she hung up, my phone buzzed with a message from Addison.
[Addison Blythe: Do you really think she loves you? All I have to do is lift a finger and she’ll leave you for me.]
I shifted my gaze from the phone screen and saw Vanessa hurrying back to my side.
"Carl, there’s an urgent document I need to handle. My laptop is in the car. I’ll be back soon."
My heart sank, but I forced a smile and nodded.
The moment she left, my phone vibrated again. Another message from Addison. This time, just five words.
[Addison Blythe: Come to the parking lot.]
At the same time, my sister called.
"The plane has arrived, Carl. It’s time to go."
After hanging up, I looked at the message again before making my way to Vanessa’s private parking lot.
